my childhood icon
I was about six or seven years old when my brothers and I got the original NES for Christmas. Super Mario is my icon because he has been a part of my life throughout my youth until today. The great thing about Mario is that he's timeless; my unborn kids will likely have games that involve him. Yes, Mario is iconic like Barbie dolls or Matchbox cars but I think he's much better because he's just so random! An Italian/American plumber who lives in a mushroom world out to save a princess from an evil monster called Bowser??!! C'mon Barbie...beat that.
